Licosa Boat tour
Boat trip to discover the islet of Licosa (Leucosia)
According to the Greek myth, Leucosia was the name of one of the three mermaids who lived on the rocks, in the bay of Salerno. According to Licofrone they work together but when Odysseus refuses to stop at their song he forces them to commit suicide. They throw themselves into the sea from the top of a cliff and the sea carries their bodies to different places. The body of Leucosia emerged in the waters of the Gulf of Poseidonia (Paestum) hence the name of Leucosia given to an islet near that city, Punta Licosa.
