PALINURO: TRIP BOAT
Palinuro is very appreciated by tourists, thanks to its wonderful position, among olive trees on the hills and the wonderful sea. The sea is uncontaminated; there are wonderful creeks, long and wide beeches, beautiful caves with stalagmites and remains of prehistoric animals.
Don’t leave Palinuro before visiting its wonderful caves, that can only be reached by sea, passing though the headland of Cape Palinuro, a majestic lime cliff. There are many attractive caves and bays; the best one is for sure “Buon Dormire” bay, in which you will stop for a short swim.
The excursions are suitable for all. You will get a “gozzo”, that is the typical boat of fishermen, sure and stable. An expert person will guide you.
The caves:
Blue Cave - The first and the largest is the Blue Cave, so named because of the wonderful blue effect given by the sunlight, passing through an underground tunnel.
Blood Cave - An intense red colour due to the presence of iron in the caves walls. Its contact with seawater produces its characteristic colour.
Monks Cave - Like the other caves the "Monks cave" is rich with stalactites and stalagmites, the latter of these form such a peculiar monks shapes.

1) Excursion to the cave of Palinuro
Visit the Blue Cave and stop of 20 minutes at the Buondormire bay.
Total duration: 1h and 30 '. Price: Euro 20,00 per adult and Euro 15,00 per child (from 3 to 10 years).
2) Excursion to the Blue Cave
Duration: 20 minutes. Price: Euro 10,00 per adult and Euro 6,00 per child.
3) Blue Ticket / Blue Card
Visit the 4 caves and then you are left on Buondormire bay and a boat will come to pick you up about at 16 o'clock.
Total duration: depending on the time of departure, the first trip begins at 9:00.
Return to the port of Palinuro at 16:00. Price: Euro 20,00 per adult and Euro 10,00 per child
