VALLIVONA SINKHOLE
L'INGHIOTTITOIO DI VALLIVONA (1100 m a.s.l.) is located between Sanza area, Piaggine and Monte San Giacomo.
The geological nature is typical morphology of a karstic environment rich in sinkholes and springs.
The Vallivona sinkhole is nothing more than a arificial crossing cave about 500 metres long.
Once inside the sinkhole, the scenery is breathtaking, one gets a sense of its size, its elliptical shape and the high naturalistic value of the plant environment.
The proposed route starts from the fountain near Ponte Inferno. It continues along the River Bussento and after about 1 km the route continues uphill for about 1.5 hours. In the central part of the route one can observe, in addition to the many broad-leaved trees, sparse Yew trees. The road ends at the mouth of the sinkhole.

The walks are circular and have varying duration/distance/difficulty, which will be communicated at the beginning of the month. Outings may be subject to change for weather reasons.
The registration fees are for the AIGAE guide who will accompany the participants and their insurance coverage.
PARTICIPATION FEES: The participant, when filling out the APPLICATION FORM, must indicate in the space provided the amount of the individual fee corresponding to the subscription proposal chosen
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- there is no health prescription to be fulfilled for the tours, however, considering that the
excursions take place in environments far from emergency medical care, therefore people with allergies or other particular medical conditions will have to provide themselves in advance with any necessary medicines;
- that packed lunches or, if provided, meals in characteristic inns and/or taverns, as well as in open-air bivouacs in enchanting places surrounded by nature;
- that the itineraries vary in relation to the many proposals offered: before the excursion, a
News Sheet with a detailed description of the itinerary's characteristics;
- Participants are obliged to provide help and assistance according to their abilities to others who may be in difficulty;
